Isla Mujeres, Mexico The island of women. Located in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Cancun. Wikipedia says it got its name because in Pre-Columbian times the island was sacred to the goddess "Ix Chel." I like the story we were told more. When the Spanish arrived, all of the men were out fishing and doing their normal provider jobs during the day. All the Spanish could find on the island were women. Hence, Isla Mujeres. I suppose the Wikipedia version makes more sense, unless they named the island within the few hours while the guys were gone.
Sand Rock and Water Colorado River, Arizona This was the only place where I saw sand. The rest of the terrain is all rock. So when I had the opportunity to get all of this in one shot I had to pull over and take it.
Lost Lake I looked. Its gone.
